Zayed Future Energy Prize (Grant of $100,000) Selects UWCMC as a Finalist

The Zayed Future Energy Prize, the UAE’s international awards for energy and sustainability pioneers, selected UWC Mahindra College as one of the 14 finalists (1,437 applicants from 97 countries) for the 8th cycle of the prize. The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on January 18th in Abu Dhabi attended by our second years, Jayden and Lucas, who put the proposal together.

Shelby M.C. Davis, Phil Geier, and Jens Waltermann Visit UWC Mahindra College

UWC International Patron, Shelby M.C. Davis, Phil Geier, former UWC-USA President and Jens Waltermann (Pearson UWC, Class of ’85), the new Executive Director of UWC International, visited UWC Mahindra College during their 10-day UWC tour in Asia. Next, they will visit UWCSEA, Singapore followed by UWC Changshu, China for the inauguration ceremony.

UWC Launches $15 million Davis-UWC IMPACT Programme

UWC International announced a USD $15 million funding boost through a gift by American philanthropist, Shelby M.C. Davis. Under the program, charitable donations from alumni, parents and friends to the UWC institutions will be matched dollar for dollar, thereby doubling contributions. This is a fantastic opportunity to kick off the college’s first concerted fundraising drive around the #StepUp Campaign that aims to reconnect alumni and parents with UWCMC. Alumni can choose to designate their gift to support specific projects under three pillars of our Vision 2022.

Kriyā for Nepal: Climbing for Earthquake Relief

After the recent earthquake struck Nepal, 15 young economically and socially disadvantaged women from villages near Pune, alongside 25 international students, who had been preparing to ascend one of the country’s highest peaks, decided to give an additional meaning to their challenging four-week expedition by raising funds for earthquake-stricken Nepal.
